Two Alice Springs charities – Mai Wiru and Alice Springs School of the Air – have each received a $10,000 donation thanks to the long-standing partnership between The Lott by Tatts NT and the Finke Desert Race.

The iconic two-day motorsport event was held in Alice Spring over the King’s Birthday long weekend, and we congratulate all competitors and winners across the cars and bikes categories who braved the 226km of rugged terrain.

For the 26th year running, The Lott by Tatts NT was the event’s proud naming rights sponsor, made even more special by the two local charities selected by event organisers to receive our funding.

Mai Wiru – which means “good food” in Pitjantjatjara – is focused on improving nutrition, health and food security for local Aboriginal communities, while Alice Springs School of the Air provides quality remote education to students living in isolated areas.

“We’ve supported the Tatts Finke Desert Race for over 25 years and this new initiative extends this partnership further by helping two organisations deliver real community impacts,”

our Chief Commercial Officer Callum Mulvihill said.

Our Partnership Manager Liz McPherson said we were honoured to be part of an event that means so much to the Alice Springs community and beyond.

“For more than two decades, we’ve seen firsthand how the Tatts Finke Desert Race brings people together – not just competitors and fans, but volunteers, families and businesses – all playing a role in making this event what it is today,” she said.

“It’s more than a race; it’s a celebration of resilience, community spirit and adventure."
