History was made once again at the Footy Show Grand Final: My Room Telethon, with a record $6 million raised to support sick kids and their families.
We're happy to have been part of last Thursday’s event broadcast on Channel 9, celebrating our seventh year of support for the national volunteer-run organisation with a $100,000 donation from The Lott.
Since 1993, My Room has been dedicated to raising funds for research, clinical care and family support – all to improve the quality of life for children with cancer.
The goal has never changed; working towards a 100% cure rate for childhood cancer with 95 cents from every dollar raised going directly to this mission.
This year, many of our lottery retailers rallied behind My Room to help raise funds. Some even decorated their outlet and donned the colours of My Room just as passionately as they would for their favourite footy team.
“We are so thankful for seven years of The Lott’s generous donations, which helps ensure children and families receive the specialised care they need. It’s deeply rewarding to witness the real difference these funds make,” My Room CEO Margaret Zita OAM said.
“And a special thank you to the incredible The Lott retailers who truly went above and beyond this year dressing up their stores, hosting fundraisers and spreading the My Room message even further into their communities. Their passion and commitment made a real difference.”
