We’re proud to announce a $300,000 contribution from The Lott by Golden Casket unclaimed prize money to the Daniel Morcombe Foundation.

Today is the 21st annual Walk for Daniel which kicks off the foundation’s Day for Daniel, Australia’s largest child safety education and awareness event.

Totalling $2.2 million over seven years, our funding supports the charity’s tireless efforts to keep more children safe from harm through education programs empowering children, parents, caregivers and communities to recognise and respond to potential danger.

The foundation also provides support to victims of crime and families of missing persons.

“The Lott’s incredible generosity has helped us continue to create free educational resources so we can keep our young people safe,” charity founders Bruce and Denise Morcombe said.

“For 21 years the Daniel Morcombe Foundation has cut through the barriers and done what others thought complicated and difficult.

"Here’s to another 21 years of unwavering dedication and advocating for children.”

Our Partnerships Manager Liz McPherson said we were proud to be part of the foundation’s journey and growth nationwide.

Not only did our team members participate in today’s Walk for Daniel – the 4km walk Bruce and Denise’s son Daniel tragically didn’t complete in 2003, many of our retailers also got behind the cause by decorating their outlets in the charity’s signature red, fundraising and raising awareness.

For more than a decade we’ve also backed the Amber Alert system which helps spread urgent messages about abducted or high-risk missing children via lottery terminals in our outlets. We’re currently working to expand the initiative into more jurisdictions.
