Keno is proud to today contribute $200,000 to Disaster Relief Australia, bringing its total support over six years to $1.2 million to help disaster-affected communities nationwide.

We celebrate our partnership during National Volunteer Week to highlight the amazing work of DRA’s veteran-led volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise in helping communities prepare for and recover from disasters.

Thanks to Keno’s support this financial year alone, DRA was able to conduct 33 local community operations, deploy 376 volunteers and complete 111 essential work requests delivering more than 9,300 hours of recovery assistance to communities in the aftermath of fires, floods and storms.

The funding has also helped activate teams across Queensland, South Australia, NSW, Victoria and the ACT, from debris removal in bushfire-hit regions to storm recovery assistance and veteran-support projects.

“At Keno, we believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work,”

our Keno GM Licensed Venue Operations Paul Malek said.

“Partnering with DRA allows us to make a meaningful impact where it's needed most. We’re proud to stand beside them in their mission.”

DRA Chief Executive Officer Dave Smith said volunteers and community partners were fundamental to the not-for-profit’s success.

“It’s thanks to the in-kind and financial support of organisations like Keno that we can deploy our volunteers and put boots on the ground in communities to help Australians recover post disaster on some of their darkest days,” he said.
