When our rural communities are faced with cyclones, droughts, floods or fires, the road to recovery isn’t easy.
That’s why Keno is proud to partner with Rural Aid for a second year, donating $100,000 today to help the charity provide on-the-ground relief, financial aid and emotional support to farmers impacted by natural disasters.
In our first year of partnership with Rural Aid, we helped deliver more than 4,800 bales of hay, 138 water tank deliveries, 1,300 counselling sessions, and financial assistance to 200-plus farmers.
“Over the past year, we’ve seen big challenges come and hit our farmers hard. Drought started to unfold and become more serious in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales, while on the other end of the country, we saw big flood events in Queensland,” Rural Aid CEO John Warlters said.
“Against the backdrop of these disasters, the support from Keno has allowed Rural Aid to respond rapidly. We’re so excited to continue this partnership and answer the call of our farming families.”
Our General Manager Licensed Venue Operations Paul Malek said he was proud of Keno’s role in helping the resilience and sustainability of rural communities.
“Just as Keno brings people together, the spirit of mateship becomes even more vital during challenging times,” he said.
