What an amazing result over the weekend with the Nine Telethon in Queensland raising more than $6.79 million for Mater Little Miracles.

We loved playing our part as a proud presenting partner as well as contributing $600,000 from The Lott by Golden Casket during the telecast which will help fund life-saving research, care services and equipment, ensuring all babies at Mater Mothers’ Hospital have the best possible start to life.

The funding will also support research staff who are investigating treatment options to protect infants from Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV).

“Every dollar donated to the Nine Telethon makes a difference to the babies and families we care for at Mater, so we are incredibly grateful to receive this contribution from The Lott,” Mater Foundation Executive Director Andrew Thomas said.

“This support will enable us to invest in life-saving equipment and support world-leading research at Mater – research that ultimately benefits babies across Australia and the globe.”

The telethon was especially close to home for us with our own Julia Plackner from our Legal team helping kick off the telethon with daughter Charlotte who was born at the Mater 15 weeks' premature. After spending 90 days in hospital, 10-month-old Charlotte is now thriving and the family are proud to be part of giving back to Mater.
